hello there, i’d like to tell you about shed life and their debut single, “scarface”

fresh from the old saybrook bay, shed life are off to a loud, busy start.  the band fuses punk, emo, and tricky time signatures for a one-of-a-kind blend of goodness.  rumors have it that the old sea breeze from the coast give the band their powers.  if this is true, band members Eric Peterson (guitar), Joe Luchuck (vox/bass), and Jon Christina (drums) aren’t saying.  one witness claims to have seen the band gathering next to the water on a full moon, chanting in robes, with candles around them.  you, dear reader, can make up your own mind about these allegations.

at any rate, the band recently released their debut single “scarface” to spotify (see below).  the song is an uptempo, supremely catchy song that feels stadium-ready for a sing-a-long.  i wouldn’t call it a “summer song”, but it feels big and full of energy.  the band do something i really love around the 90-second mark, and i want to tell you about it, but i feel like it would be a spoiler.  just go ahead and listen for yourself.  given how many corners the band turns in this song alone, i’m excited to hear what they work up next.  plans for an album or ep haven’t been announced, but you can preview more of their music at their local shows!
