it’s been a while! *staind plays softly in the background* welcome back to The Bark List, a mostly-weekly feature rounding up a bunch of music from Connecticut songwriters and artists! while we’ve been on an unofficial hiatus, Connecticut has been blooming with great songs. and while we have been listening this whole time, we haven’t been posting about it very much. we hope that you take a little time out of your day to check out these fantastic songs. maybe you have as much catching up to do as we do?

jelani sei – “wild ride”
the incredible Jelani Sei is back with new songs! while the album they’ve uploaded to bandcamp may be a work-in-progress, it already features some of the best songs of the band’s catalog. “wild ride”, for example, is easily one of our favorite songs of the year already.
daniprobably – “so hard”
before 2019’s beautiful Conditional Things, Dan Capalbo recorded a full album that was eventually shelved. Daniprobably talks about this in our interview, and if you are like me, you were dying to hear what that material sounded like (while respecting an artist’s decisions of when and how and if an artist releases their work). many of those songs are now available on streaming as the Fishing EP — featuring some of the best songs of 2020 already (or 2018, if you want to be time-appropriate).
