gig of the week(end): double gainer record release with posture & the grizzly, greeth death (MI), and short fictions (PA)! (9/19)

Each week, we’ll plug one show that we excites us.  (We think every show posted on our Gig Calendar is worth checking out, but we wanted to spotlight one in particular).

This week’s Gig of the Week(end) is: Greet Death, Short Fictions, Posture & the Grizzly, and Double Gainer show on September 19th at The Beeracks in East Haven. The price is only 12-15 bucks, and the doors open at 6PM (the show will start promptly at 7PM). The venue is all ages, and alcohol for sale for anyone over the age of 21.

What’s the hype? This’ll be an incredible show, what do you mean ‘what’s the hype?’ OK, let’s look at the bill. Two touring bands and two local bands. Good ratio, I like it. Not crazy about four band bills, but all four of these bands rule, so I’m not going to complain. Of the touring bands, they’re quite different, and great in their own way. Greet Death is like a nihilistic feelbad band. I love to just turn on their New Hell and turn down the lights and just be moody. Short Fictions, on the other hand, is a totally different vibe. They played at The Church in Hamden a while back, and everyone in the audience huddled around them, totally in sync with their wavelengths. For the two local bands, both have a lot of new material that they’ll be showing off. Posture & the Grizzly have a new LP that they will probably get around to releasing in 2032 due to the nationwide vinyl shortages. And Double Gainer is a brand new baby band who are debuting their record at the show. The band has members from The Most, Milkshakes, and Tri-State Era. C’mon, three legendary CT bands all rolled up into one. And also, people who have heard the album of twitter are raving about it, and I’m just jealous af because nobody sent me a private soundcloud link.

OK see you there!
