Each week, we’ll plug one show that we excites us. (We think every show posted on our Gig Calendar is worth checking out, but we wanted to spotlight one in particular).
This week’s Gig of the Week(end) is: Psych Fest 2: The Reckoning at Psych Shack in Willimantic on August 28 with doors at 4:00PM. The line-up includes Pond View, Tears Fall Down, Window Seat, Cassie’s Crutch, The Problem with Kids Today, The Fivers, The Human Fund, and the Post Valley Green. The price is $12 online and $15 at the door. The venue is all ages and proof of vaccination (or a recent negative covid test) is required.
What’s the hype? Wait, are you for real? Do you really need me to explain why this gig rules? There are many (too many!) great gigs this weekend, but we wanted to single this one out for the sheer density of Connecticut music in one place at one time. I think this will be one of Window Seat’s first gigs outside of New Haven, so be sure to catch them and sing along with the “1-2-3-4” in “Just Friends”. And peep Tears Fall Down, who released this very cool video for “Rise Again” that whips ass. Or watch The Problem With Kids Today, as Tate (probably) covers himself in peanut butter and rolls around in broken glass on stage. Or witness the crunchy rock-n-roll of Farm Fest Fresh Pond View. It’s going to be fun, and it’s going to be loud. Help close out the summer with this massive show.
