over this weekend, two new albums were birthed into the world! that’s right: american amnesia and happy happy joy joy both gave you some new tunes to throw into your ears (and hearts). on saturday, american amnesia released their new album no time for redemption. i wrote about it a little bit last week, as the band debuted their single “depression.jpg”. the album maintains a similar tone and mood to that song, but you’ll find that many of the songs are louder and heavier than what they previewed last week. the band have uploaded the album to youtube and spotify, so check it out below. there are only two songs that are not labeled ‘explicit’, so babies are not allowed to listen — except for the cool ones (what’s up, you cool baby?).
now swinging in a very different direction, happy happy joy joy have released their debut album, where to find love and how to lose it. the band uploaded the album to soundcloud over the weekend, with an announcement friday afternoon that within 48 hours, you’d be able to hear it. they made good on that promise, and you can hear where to find love and how to lose it now! (see below for a streaming link). the album will be hitting other streaming platforms soon, like spotify, but for now, the band wanted to have the music available for fans as soon as possible. i think you’ll dig it: it’s a jazzy, bluesy, guitar-forward record that still feels pop-centric. it’s hard to describe, so give it a listen and let me know what you think.
