spend three minutes with the ditch boys before their ep, “seven minutes with ditch boys”

whenever people talk about sequels that are better than the original, i like to say “new england is better than the first one.”  for some reason, no one ever finds this funny, which is ridiculous because as you can obvious see, it is hilarious.  but following that trend of new england being better than england prime, new haven’s ditch boys have just released their first single, “shots of love.”  the band sound like mid ’00s brit-rock — whatever you say i am…-era arctic monkeys are a convenient (if over-simplified) reference point.  the band’s loud guitars, yorkshire accents, and big, singable lyrics make “shots of love” a blast.  and the band’s promo images, complete with leather jackets, dim alleyways, and cigarettes are, dare i say it, pretty damn cool.

premiering over at ct scramble, “shots of love” is the first track unveiled for ditch boys’ upcoming debut ep, seven minutes with ditch boys.  now, there hasn’t been an official tracklist advertised for the ep yet, so it is unclear if the titular “seven minutes” is a remark on its running time.  with the ep out in a couple weeks, be prepared to find out and hear the whole thing on 6/18/19.
