you remember how great shooting star is~, but if i told you [putting on morpheus sunglasses] that there was a new waveform* track for you to enjoy?  the band have contributed the previously-unreleased track “dream” to the Running From The Dark compilation alongside others such as field medic, ricky eats acid, bedbug, dousing, and more.

waveform* have said that the song was recorded after the shooting star sessions.  centered around the drum sample, the song was kept short and lo-fi.  the vocals and melody came last, which is not the band’s normal songwriting method, but it emphasizes the tone and mood of the track.  what’s it about?  the title gives it away: it’s about sleeping and dreaming.

please consider checking out the compilation — all proceeds go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). all donations, even $1, are a huge help. if you’ve never been to a NAMI meeting, they are community-led meetings made up of a variety of individuals from all walks of life. some attendees are people with neuroatypical diagnoses; some are licensed mental health professionals; some are parents or relatives trying to understand what their loved ones are going through. these meetings are a cross-section of the community, all brought together to fight stigma against mental illness.

~and if you don’t, then let’s fix that.  check out “mean” and “hazel”, and you’re welcome.
