some great local merch from some great local bands

you COULD stream their songs several thousand times, or you could just give them money directly. (real talk for just 2 seconds) services like Spotify and Apple Music are great for learning about new music (that’s how i learned about a lot of local music, tbh), but don’t forget that for most artists, streaming platforms are not a sustainable mode of income. unless you’re like, i don’t know, Maroon 5. and thank god Maroon 5 is not a local connecticut band.

so, if you can afford to, buy stuff from those folks that make the music you love! and if you can’t afford to, send them a quick message telling them how much their music means to you. i know that’s not a cool, hip thing to do, but artists care. most artists are lucky to break even — they’re not doing this to get rich. they’re doing it to create, to share, and to communicate.

anyways, this was all just to say that i got a fuckload of cool merch at the glambat / snowpiler / SHY show, lol. check it out.
