and now we turn to joe with this week’s CRAG-WATCH

okay all of you cragheads, here’s the scoop: Crag Mask has new gigs and new live videos for you to check out. one of my favorite local videographers, Sleeper Radio, met up with Crag Mask at a diy spot in boston (Trixies Palace) during a stacked bill (doom-rock Seed and friend-of-CT Pet Fox played). if you aren’t familiar with Sleeper Radio, he’s an awesome videographer that mostly records bands in the northeast — a CT-native living in Boston — but you can find him all over the place. there are a few live videos he’s uploaded from London, Amsterdam, and SXSW, for example. and actually, he’s got some really cool videos of bands playing at mac 650 in middletown that i would recommend (Sidney Gish; Boyscott). anyways, Sleeper Radio taped some of Crag Mask’s performance! you can check out “Flower Guts” (below), “Stainer”, “Old News”, and “Flesh Raft”. they are all songs from the band’s most recent album, Bend, and a pretty good representation of their dynamic live sound. at the very least, watch the videos to see Zayne’s new haircut.

but wait up you cragqueens, because there are two other things i want to tell you about. first, i hope you’ve already rsvp’ed to the upcoming cafe nine show on 9/30. if you do, you can get in for free. if not, then you have to fork up five bucks at the door. it’s gonna be an awesome show, not just because Crampus is playing, but T Wreck and Tunic will also be there. it’s gonna get loud, folks.

and secondly, it’s just been announced that both Craggy and The Fiction Kids will be sharing the stage with Pile when they visit the space ballroom in december. here’s the calendar info for that, and if you are even thinking about going, i highly encourage you to buy tickets now, because i suspect they’ll be sold out soon. it’s $15 if you order now.
