if you’re reading this, you’re probably still disappointed that a great show you planned to see this weekend was canceled. i’d been looking forward to two particular shows this friday and saturday for over a month now! but as bummed as i am, i know i’m not nearly as bummed as the bands that actually had to cancel their sets. those bands not only lost the opportunity to play live / in public, but they lost a chance at making a few bucks from that night’s gig (whether that be a cut of the door, merch sales, etc.).

my first thought was to go out and buy these bands’ music from bandcamp. that’s a good way to directly support those artists (bandcamp doesn’t take as big a slice of the pie as, say, Apple of Amazon), and you can add their music to your own collections (both physical or digital).

but the thing about the COVID-19 preventative measures is that they affect pretty much everybody. i’m out of work for two weeks, and i know others are too. you might now have the money to throw at bands you love, especially in uncertain conditions like this. in that case, i put together a massive playlist of bands whose sets were canceled this weekend. stream it, and throw some (fractions of) pennies in their digital wallets! every little bit helps right now! so, even if you aren’t in the mood to listen, throw the playlist on, hit shuffle, and walk away from it. but if you are in the mood to listen to music, then this playlist is pretty fucking good, if i may say so. but what would you expect? it’s just a bunch of CT artists/songwriters.
