acid cat radio’s ct diy live performances/interviews and zh1’s new episode with pulsr

launching right at the end of 2019, Acid Cat Radio is a new platform for CT DIY.  it’s part radio, part live performance, and part interview chat show.  check out their website here: https://acidcat.weebly.com/ (and youtube channel).  it’s run by the good folks in Spray Bottle Fever (shout out to Joe and Connor), and it’s all about bringing folks in the community together.  on youtube, you can find find two full sessions with Kim Normal and with Rex Thurstan of Eel People.  in both sessions, you get a full set of music followed by interesting interviews with the musicians.  it’s a total love fest, and that’s what makes the connecticut music scene so great — fuck competition, let’s celebrate one another’s art!  and and and:

if you want to be on the show, reach out to Acid Cat Radio for a session!  they’re always looking for new folks to work with.  if you go to the Acid Cat website, there’s a convenient form for you to use and everything!

and once you’ve watched both of those sessions, you can tune into their radio station, where you can hear local bands’ music streaming (even some live cuts!) along with other cool non-CT songs (if there is such a thing).  you can expect programmed content soon, curated by local CT artists!

if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you may know how hard i crush on ZH1, another regional web show. ZH1 has run some really fantastic live sessions with King Bongo, Foxtails, Similar Kind, and Proxima Centauri (among others!). i’ve found it as a really awesome way to hear new music from CT bands that hasn’t yet been recorded or released. case in point: Pulsr.

i stan Pulsr pretty hard, even if they don’t have a public bandcamp page. and for a while, when i would hype the band up, people would just have to take my word for it. well, no longer! ZH1 recorded a short live set with Pulsr (Jake Fucci, Drew Collins [of Sundots], and Josh Merkin [of Waveform* and Siera]). you can also expect some new recorded tunes from the band soon, but dear reader, that is a post for another day.
