woozles has cooked you another fresh one: “all yr holy life”

why life is good today: woozles (Conor Ryan) has released a new single!  “all yr holy life” comes hot on the heels of “losing touch”, which was released just a few weeks ago.  Ryan (who is currently the drummer for boyscott) has intimated that these two singles are part of a pair, and a quick listen presents them as stylistic opposites: where “losing touch” was a restrained, morose ballad, “all yr holy life” is ramshackle rocker that is ready to blow up at any moment.

imagine if “green aisles”-era real estate played around with auto-tune.  “all yr holy life” is a guitar-forward jangle-pop tune that frequently expands and collapses on itself, with a catchy melody leading as its through-line.  what makes the song a cool pairing with “losing touch”, though, is how both songs are like subverted versions of pop songs.  they are pretty songs that have been left out in the sun to warp; dropped on the pavement to crack their screen; transferred across hard-drives only to be corrupted with stray pixels.  but don’t take my word for it [reading rainbow theme begins], check out “all yr holy life” below or stream it on spotify.
