OK look, I was originally going to make a small post about 5 essential music videos that everyone in America (and more broadly, the general “Earth” region of this solar system) should see.  But then I remembered a couple more, and then I realized I missed a few more, and yes, that is why I am telling you that there are a baker’s baker’s baker’s dozen music videos you simply need to see.  And yet, there are probably still a dozen more that I missed out on (my bad).  So here you go — this is your lunch break!  I brought you something great to watch.  You’re welcome.

Music videos are kinda a labor of love these days, and they cost more money to make than you’d expect.  If you get a chance, check out these folks’ bandcamps (linked on each entry) or social media to kick them over a few bucks if you like their work!

similar kind – “parked car conversations”

Somebody put a seatbelt on that disco ball! Every damn Similar Kind music video rules, and this one is no exception. Love this band. (that’s an order)

The brazen youth – “hometown”

A Connecticut band showing off how beautiful Connecticut is with a song about how great Old Lyme is (this is how I interpret it, and you cannot take that away from me). The Brazen Youth always delivering the best.

mandala. – “blank spaces”

Mandala just announced that they would soon be leaving the great nutmeg state. But before you pour one out for your favorite band, watch them destroy this corporate office!

Kim Normal – “Here and now”

One of our favs, Kimberly Normal is set to release their second album very soon, so get a taste with this music video (and a new one drops today too!)

stout – “DOMME”

New Haven’s STOUT just dropped a new album full of heat! Here’s the trippy music visualizer for “Domme”.

AMERICAN THRILLS – “STRANGER”

The band just released Old Things on vinyl and now they’re serving up an awesome music video.

THE SPARKLE AND FADE – “NOT YOUR ENEMY”

Did you catch the band’s great debut album, Find a Way?

ADVERSITY – “VERSES OF MY MIND”

Adversity 627 told me himself that the “Verses” of his mind is in fact CT verses.

MERCY CHOIR – “KITCHEN KNIFE COLLECTION”

OK so this is kinda a live video, but we’ll call it a proper music video because are excited about the upcoming Mercy Choir album!

THE 50×50’s – “KOLSCH”

New video from The 50x50s (Sketch tha Cataclysm + Deto 22) that was inspired, was inspired, was inspired by a conversation.

THE PROBLEM WITH KIDS TODAY – “FLY BOY”

If you don’t know much about The Problem With Kids Today, my advice is to crank it loud and let it get weird.

Hero magnus – “selfish Love”

Check out this new Hero Magnus track! And if you didn’t check out their new EP released back in March, well you really owe it to yourself to do that today. 🙂

sargasso – “Cherry Blossoms”

We were offline when this beautiful, sweetly and softly psychedelic song + video dropped. So, even though this was released back in February, you need to feel it!

BUBBA RAND’S RUBBA BAND – “THE END”

RIP Bubba Rand // Love Live Bubba Rand. See you, Space Bubba.

Friends and Expats Division

SMILE MACHINE – “PRETTY TODAY”

Pre-order Smile Machine (aka Jordyn Blakely’s) upcoming debut, Bye for Now on bandcamp (released on Exploding in Sound records)!

LUNCH DUCHESS – “BODY”

One of our favorite songs from one of our favorite albums! Filmed before quarantine, the band is sharing it now to celebrate their return to live shows.
