a couple of months ago, Foxtails very graciously allowed me to preview their new album, Querida Hija. since that time, i’ve been sitting on my hands, anxious for other people to hear it. if you’ve checked out their live shows recently, their sets are almost exclusively composed of these new songs, which are the best of the band’s career. dynamic, surprising, and complex, Querida Hija is a compositional and emotional accomplishment for Foxtails. and if this gushing praise sounds familiar, it’s because i gave my early opinion on the album after they let me hear it (read that profile here).
i’m bringing all of this up because Querida Hija has now been formally announced on Emocat Records, the same label that brought you Foxtails’ III in 2017. you can pre-order the album now! right this second! and it comes out on september 25th, so it’ll be hear before you know it. if you haven’t been fortunate enough to check out their live shows, you can get a taste for what Querida Hija sounds like with the new single “The Chickening” (below).
