last friday, this blog featured a preview of foxtails’ fantastic upcoming record querida hija. today, zh1 released a live performance of the new song “i experienced ego death on a skramcave thread”. the song is one of the most raw and emotional tracks on querida hija, and foxtails’ live rendition perfectly captures the vital energy of the song. part screamo, part experimental, part… black metal?! megan cadena-fernandez’s vocal range is incredible, drummer mike larocca’s rhythms intricately pump the gas and pull the brakes, keeping this dynamic song perfectly on track, and and jon benham’s guitarwork is carefully accented and interstellar. if you’re hungry for new foxtails music after hearing me gush about their new album, now’s your chance! check out the link below.

querida hija will be foxtails’ first full-length since the excellent III, and it will drop in just a few months while the band waits for the vinyl presses to return. zh1 is an independent film crew that captures great underground bands from the american northeast. previous performances include king bongo and similar kind.

and i’ve said it once, i’ll say it again: mike larocca’s mustache game is not to be underestimated.
