On this episode of our podcast, we talk with Norwalk-then-New-York-City’s Beau Dega!  Beau is a terrific solo artist, who has released two of our favorite albums of the past couple of years (Holy Cannoli and OOF), and you can currently find him playing lead guitar in Powerviolets!  Between 2019 and now, Beau has released three albums.  OOF features more than a dozen songs that were written in various stages during the past several years.  We love its everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach to melody.  Holy Cannoli is the refinement and progression of OOF (and it appeared on our list of Best Albums of 2020).  And Day Olds is this year’s odds-and-ends collection of tracks that either didn’t quite fit on Holy Cannoli or was written right after Holy Cannoli was finished.  We talk about all of these things in this interview, but we also talk about really important things, like why Connecticut residents are called “pumpkinheads”.  Wait, is that true?  IDK, I’ve never been called a pumpkinhead, but you’ll find out the origin of that nutmegger nickname in this episode!  Other topics of conversation include DIY venue politics, the origins of the Beau Dega mantle, and the role of money in “indie music”.

Our interview with Beau Dega covers all of this and more!  You can find our podcast episode at any of the usual streaming platforms or at one of the embeds below.
