gig of the week(end): farm fest features 10 great bands including pulsr, sorry mom, pond view, bajzelle and more! (10/24)

Each week, we’ll plug one show that we excites us.  (We think every show posted on our Gig Calendar is worth checking out, but we wanted to spotlight one in particular).

This week’s Gig of the Week(end) is: The second FARM FEST of the year is this Sunday (10/24) at Sansone’s Farm in Branford. There is a $10 entry fee. Doors are at noon, and the music starts at 1PM. The venue is outdoors and all ages, and food + drinks will be sold by vendors. Parking is available at 45 Tabor Dr.

What’s the hype? There’s a lot of great gigs this weekend, but it’s hard to compete with 10 great bands in one cool, low-key place. The summer Fart Fest was a huge hit, with like over 100 people showing up for the bands. You know it’s about to get very cold soon, so this may be one of the last big outdoor music events of 2021 (Westville Music Bowl has already closed for the season). The organizers would also love for you to wear a costume! An informal costume contest winner will win a basket full of band merch. All of this is great, but the real treat is the incredible line-up of great bands. Here’s the awesome line-up:

Litvar
Pond View
T!LT
Sorry Mom
Pulsr
Bajzelle
Scooped Up!
Cassie’s Crutch
The Human Fund
The Post Valley Green

We’re especially excited for Sorry Mom (whose last CT show fell through when Psych Shack closed down) and Litvar (who are returning from a west coast tour). All of these bands, though, are great, whether we’re talking the hypnotic prog of Pulsr, the raucous fun of Pond View, the indie twang of The Post Valley Green, or the psychedelic mania of The Human Fund.

Parking on the farm itself is not available, so you’ll want to direct your GPS to Tabor Church (45 Tabor Drive), where you can park for free. It’s a 10 minute walk to the stage from there, but if you have trouble walking that distance, you can call the organizers of Farm Fest, and they’ll arrange to pick you up.

OK see you there! (art work for the flier by @lily.gile )
