here’s a 1-2 punch: the inside out are releasing their a single (and video) today, and their first full-length album comes out next week.  that single, “don’t stop”, is an anthemic, loud, pop song — it’s a little appetizer to get you craving the full-course lp, i want to wake up where you are.  often described as an emo band, the inside out are that, but they are also indebted to the big kinds of choruses that you might find in a stadium-rock band, with huge, soaring melodies.  go ahead and take a listen to “don’t stop” and you’ll see what i mean.  here’s the stream:

“don’t stop” is a catchy song, right?  the verses take on some mid-era sonic youth and REM sounds, and the chorus feels as tight as a foster the people jam.  it feels by complete coincidence that the song shares a title/hook as that foster the people song because that’s where the similarities end.  if this is indicative of what’s on the full-length lp, i want to wake up where you are, then these will be a long 7 days to wait indeed.  the inside out are jams howard (vocals / guitar), eddison beunano (lead guitar), brendan ross (bass), and chase rivera (drums).

You can track their bandcamp here.
