gig of the week(end): laura wolf’s ep release show with greetings and stadia in hartford! (11/20)

Each week, we’ll plug one show that we excites us.  (We think every show posted on our Gig Calendar is worth checking out, but we wanted to spotlight one in particular).

This week’s Gig of the Week(end) is: Laura Wolf, Stadia, and Greetings (11/20) at Ducks on the Ave in Hartford. There is a $12 entry fee, but it’s only $10 if you cop tickets early. Doors are at 7PM, and the music starts at 8PM. The venue is indoors and all ages, and cash bar is present for attendees over 21.

What’s the hype? Ducks on the Ave is one of the more recent venues in Connecticut that is hosting (great) live music. Yes, it is the bowling place. You can do that here, between sets, if that’s what you’re into. If you try bowling at Cafe Nine, they’ll just call the cops. Anyways, this three-band bill is the perfect line-up. Laura Wolf will be playing her first show in CT since the pandemic (I think), and we’ll be celebrating her release of Artifacts, which dropped last week. Stadia — the band led by Funnybone Records founder Dylan Healy — will use their gentle melodies to slice through your heart like a warm knife through butter. (That sounds a little more violent than I wanted it). And Greetings… the psychedelic R&B group never steps in the same stream twice, so we’re excited to see their trippy, good vibes.

OK see you there! (art work for the flier by @scarydogface)
